So I already have a crush on the girl (she was one of my first Girl Crush), but this cutout floral coat by Valentino worn to the show is just simply chic and outstanding.  Miroslava paired it with nothing but a pair of nude pointed toe pumps...no bag, no jewelry, not even a cellphone!  And that's how it's done!

FALL 2013 RTW - Undercover

The first thing I thought of when viewing Jun Takahashi's design for Undercover Fall 2013 is Alice in Wonderland.  Perhaps it's the white bunny masks, or maybe the theatrical costume-like outfits...there's just something magical about the show.

To add some street punk quirkiness to the ensembles, the models were also carrying glow in the dark skeleton head and stuff animal purses (which actually resemble to my son's Halloween trick or treat bag)!

My Milkshake is Better than Yours!

I finally went to Sephora yesterday to try out the new Nars Light Reflecting Setting Powder.  I ended up getting the pressed version, only for the sleek packaging 'cause the finish on either form (pressed or loose) was very similar on me.  And I love love it!!!  In fact, I'm wearing it on these photos with a touch of their infamous Super Orgasm blush!

Afterwards, I went on a lunch date at MBrgr with hubby and to my surprise, he ordered a chocolate milkshake instead of his usual Diet Coke with his monster burger!  As for myself, I got the strawberry mango milkshake, which was sweet enough that I didn't feel the urge of ordering dessert (saved myself 500 calories), but still refreshing enough that I was able to finish the tall order!

Oh, if you get a chance, order their pulled pork sandwich on lettuce (instead of burger bun) with Monterey Jack cheese and grilled asparagus...it's sooooo yummy!

BEAUTY FIX - Katy Perry Lashes

Katy Perry is best known for her quirky vintage inspired outfits, her equally quirky lyrics and her blue (pink, purple, colour-of-the-week) hair.  However, like many Divas, she's also know for her glamorous lashes, which allowed her to partner up with Eylure to create a collection of false lashes.

My favourite in the collection is called Oh, My!, which is the biggest with two layers of falsies stacked together for some serious flirtatious lash batting!  I remember at a much younger age, watching tutorials on youtube and being amazed how many Asian girls were wearing 2 (sometimes 3) pairs of false lashes to get that round dolly eyes (which is the secret to making sometimes 2-3 times bigger than their natural almond eyes).

And to me, if you're gonna be wearing falsies, might as well go all the way!

But if you're the kinda gal that wears falsies on a daily (or at least regular) basis, then I would go with Sweetie Pie, which discreetly adds volume and length.

BACKSTAGE BEAUTY - Chanel

Just like most girls, I love shimmer makeup.  It adds dimension and glow to my otherwise flat Asian face, not to mention that it's more forgiving if your makeup techniques are not at par with Pat McGrath (top makeup artist and Global Cosmetics Creative Design Director for Procter and Gamble).

But from a very early age, when I first started playing around with makeup, I noticed a significant difference between "shimmer" and "sparkle".  Shimmer is obviously more subtle while sparkle, at least in my humble opinion, has always been linked to cheap "Jersey Shore" makeup.

So it is to my surprise that Chanel featured jumbo size sparkles on their models eyelids and lashes...I'm kinda lost for words....is it considered chic now?  Or is it another one of those Celine Spring '13 eccentric furry Birkenstock and stilettos (don't even get me started on those...I mean what was Phebe thinking?!?); good for runway show impact for the media but completely unbearable IRL (unless if you live in Harakuju, Tokyo).

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Life's too Short to Frown

Well, here we are...it's already 2 1/2 weeks after giving birth to my beautiful girl!  Although I'm feeling a lot better, I'm just glad I've already done this once and know what to expect.

Still remembering the first time around with my son, I was in shock: "why didn't anyone warn me?!?" Dealing with the sleepless nights (and weeks), dealing with the pain, dealing with difficulties of breastfeeding, dealing with my new flabby body!  I had my first meltdown...

Although I cannot say that this time around was completely painless, I'm definitely not stressing about any of it...not even the fact that I still look like a whale in any outfit...minus the "I'm pregnant" excuse!

Back at Griffentown

I finally got out of the house today and although I'm not technically suppose to yet, it felt great!  Ok, let me start by explain myself for those of you who are not Chinese...

In the Chinese culture, it's expected for new moms to "home sitting" for the first 30 days with their baby in order to recover from the trauma of childbirth.  During this month (also called yue zi), she is expected to rest in bed, not shower nor touch cold water, eat protein-rich food that mostly considered "hot" food and avoid fruits and other "cool" foods.

So naturally, in the modern day, it's very hard to follow all the rules of yue zi...even though I personally survive two whole weeks!  And I had to negotiate a whole deal with my mom (namely wearing a hat to avoid headache) in order to go out for brunch today at my favourite spot, Griffentown.

How does she do it?  Every season, Marant sends her models down the runway uber cool and relaxed looks that every fashion savvy girl would want to wear!  And just when we got addicted to the wedge sneakers, she's already a step ahead with ponyskin velcro boots.

I personally love the simplicity of this collection, mostly built on smart tailoring and strategic layering.
