SHOPPING - Rare Bling

(Kenneth Jay Lane Clip-on Earrings)

(Vintage Multi-chain Gold Necklace)

(Zariin Semi-precious Stone Ring)

I couldn't resist...I had to get some new costume jewelry!

The KJL earrings were a no-brainer...I love KJL for bold design and quality pieces, so getting a pair of oversized bling was a natural fit in my jewelry box.

As for the Vintage necklace, I don't think I've ever spent that much on a non-branded vintage necklace.  But the design, half Egyptian half Medieval, and the sheer uniqueness of the piece made me cave in (ok, maybe I do cave in easily...).

And the ring?  Do I even need to find an excuse?  It's called 'The Tale of Two Stones'!!!  That was enough of an argument (again, I caved!)

But in my defence, its the holidays...and what else can make my eyes sparkle more than new bling?!?

Versace X H&M Cruise Collection

I guess the last H&M collaboration with Versace was such a big hit that the Swedish giant will launch a second and final cruise collection on January 19th.  This time however, the sale will only be available online via H&M's website!  I guess instead of being a battle of "who camps outside of the local flagship store first", it will be more of a "who has the fastest and broadest internet connection" battle!

However the case, I must say that the candy colour and butterfly theme is not really up my alley!  In fact, maybe the jewelry might interest me, but I would definitely not be that eager (like last time) to wake up at odd hours of the morning and click "add to cart" with my latte...I think I'll just pass on this one.

But hey, for those of you who are into fruit punch prints and pastel shades, I think this might be a good alternative given the fact that mid-jan will be freezing cold to line up outdoors overnight!

OBSESSION DU JOUR - That Dress!!!

Ok, I don't remember where and when I saved this picture of Kate Moss but I've been obsessing over her lace and ostrich feather gown with open back for the past weeks!!!  How perfect would this be on moi for new year's eve party?!?

Exactly...it would be spectacular!!!  Now, who knows the make of this beauty?

Holiday Guilt

This is what happens every year, starting end of Nov till mid-Feb!  It's the holidays!!!  Which means, lots of gathering (food), parties (food), family dinners (more food), all these are very good for my tummy...not so good for my bootie!!!

And how can you blame anyone, especially given the fact that we are dealing here with a girl (me) that loves good food and have zero self-control!  It all starts with Thanksgiving (American, since us Canadians don't really make our Thanksgiving a big deal), then rows of Christmas parties, then NYE party, then my Birthday week-long eat-a-thon, then Chinese new year and finally Valentine's Day...

So, by the second week into the winter holidays, my stomach has already expanded and is expecting nothing less than 4 solid meals a day and rich desserts after each meal.  Oh...don't be fooled by my pictures!  Trust me, I just am that good at camouflaging my flaws!!!

ps. this was my room service breakfast this morning.  "Was" as in I ate it all!

OUTFIT DU JOUR - The tallest tuque on the block

Yup, it's winter here on the northern east coast!  Temperature below zero but not an ounce of snow.  Still, I needed to keep myself warm and decided to put on my hubby's Prada tuque...only thing is that I didn't realize how tall it is!  Who has a head that long?!?  But then I figure that hey, that's a new (and maybe a little desperate) way to make myself appear taller without 7" heels!

Last night, we checked in to the cutest boutique hotel in Old Mtl, Le Petit Hotel (his birthday surprise from me) and went to our favourite restaurant, Le Garde Manger (you gotta try their lobster poutine!!!).  I guess I was trying to recreate our pre-Ayden lives: living in Old Montreal, dining out every week, sleeping in till  whenever we please.  And it felt so good!  The saddest part of all this is that while we're enjoying the liberty of being childless, we were watching Ayden's videos all evening...yeah, I miss him already!

Coat - Alexander Wang; Hoodie - Diesel (hubby's); Skirt - Blank; Purse - Pierre Hardy; Boots - Jil Sander; Sunglasses - Celine; Tuque - Prada (also hubby's)

Untamed

(Vogue Germany January 2012)

Magdalena Frackowiak for Vogue Germany Jan '12.  All that hair...I think I'm in love!

MAIN EVENT - Sparkles at Holder

Last night was my hubby's birthday party at Holder's, a French bistro in Old Montreal.  This place shouldn't need any introduction but for those of you who are not familiar with the place, it's the best place to grab some traditional french dishes and a glass of wine in the neighborhood.

But it was really all about having all our close friends together...frankly, it could have been at McDonald's and we would still have a good time!  Hum...McD and red wine of course!
