I was just chatting with a friend the other day if you rather be "book smart" or "street smart"? Hard to answer, right? Ok, then do you want your kids to be "book smart" or "street smart"?
As Ayden gets older and his personality develops, I can see that he's a natural street smart (ability to "read" people - check!, negotiation skills - check!, persuasive tactics - check!) and wish he'd have more interest in books and art. So I often find myself being strict with him on things that I cannot manage myself to do...hoping that he'll be a "smarter" kid than I was.
But every now and then, I remind myself that he's still a toddler; maybe I should just let him play with his cars and hope he'll be happy in life!
