No matter how long the line-ups, how disappointed I am if I don't get all the items I wanted...or, even worse, how disappointed I get when I saw the items up closed (compared to what I saw online), I always get excited about the next H&M designer collaboration!

And you see it: it's Maison Martin Margiela for H&M, due to launch on Nov 15th 2012!!!  Mark you calendars boys and girls!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the embellished retro cat eyes!  Especially paired with nerdy chic from DSquared2.

Ok...I really don't mind the embellished pointed heels either while we're at it.

OBSESSION DU JOUR - Zebra Beach Towel

It's funny how sometimes little things that your friends say can have such impact in odd ways.  My girlfriend QQ (the fabulous girl getting married this fall and requested a Abercrombie boy for her bachelorette party) just told us that she's planning a Safari honeymoon trip.  How original.

That got me thinking of all the YSL Safari outfits, Sex & the City 2 and antique flasks...until I stumbled upon this gorgeous zebra beach towel by Maslin & Co!!!

It's huge, it's reversible, it comes with its own leather holster and most importantly, it's zebra print!  Although it's available in 3 colour combos (navy/white and red/white as well), this is obviously my favourite one!

It was the 50th CFDA on monday.  First-time Womenswear Designer of the Year nominees Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen snagged the night’s most coveted award for The Row, edging out Marc Jacobs and the Proenza Schouler boys (I know...a little shocking right?). The night’s other big winners were Billy Reid for menswear and Reed Krakoff for accessories. Joseph Altuzarra, Phillip Lim, and Tabitha Simmons all took home the Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent.


Asides from the winners, there's also the red carpet (most entertaining part of any award ceremony).  I love the Asian heavy silk embroideries seen on Kate Bosworth, Dakota Fanning and Stephanie Winston.  And who can take their eyes off babes like Erin Heatherton and Hilary Rhoda, both wearing lagoon coloured gowns.  Pamela Love and Zoe Saldana both rocked a figure skimming black sheer gown, pure elegance and sensuality (can't go wrong with that)!

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Sweep Me Away

The weather in Shanghai is getting so thick and muggy, I really don't know what to wear anymore...until I found this sample piece of SKIIN in my closet.  It's my personal favourite: two tone cutaway tank with a slit back (for a nice breeze) in model/silk.  Easy to wear and unexpectedly chic!

ps.  sorry to say that this colour combo didn't go in production, we decided on neutral palette for our first capsule collection, which btw should be out by end of month!!!

SHOPPING - Surfer Chic

One of my girlfriend here in Shanghai is getting married in October and requested an "Abercrombie Boy" for her bachelorette party.  Personally, I think we all need one (preferably shirtless one I saw in front of the A&F store on 5th Ave)!

Anyways, it got me inspired to go to A&F and Hollister's website and pick up an few mommie (and spit) friendly pieces to hang out with my son.  Or to hang out at a beach house on the west coast...

MAIN EVENT - Blondie leaving Shanghai

It was my dear friend Karen's farewell party last night (yes, she's the gorgeous blondie) and all the girlfriends went out on the Bund for drinks, dinner and some tacky pictures of Shanghai's high-rises.  Needless to say, between the 10 of us all dolled-up (not to mention that some of these girls are ex-models, others are designers and TV hosts), we create quite a scene for the tourists on the Bund!

It was such an amazing night...I'm kinda sad that our blondie is leaving Shanghai in less than a month!  But hey, Atlanta is only a flight a way!  We already promised each other a yearly gathering!

Natasha Poly cannot get any more sensual in the latest editorial of Vogue Paris styled by Emmanuelle Alt.

My personal love for sheer fabric, especially with long sleeves or maxi dress/skirt.  The idea of being fully covered yet see-through is sensuality at its best!  Although I don't think I would personally be able to leave my room in any of the above three gowns without being starred down, I wouldn't mind owning any of them for the sheer satisfaction of owning such a breath-taking gown.
