Fast & Furious

(Elle Sweden May 2012)

I love the Formula 1 racer look Mini Anden portrays in Elle Sweden's May '12 editorial.  Badass attitude with cropped fitted leather jacket is always a win!

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Overtime

Wearing another piece from SKIIN and loving the flow and sheerness of this Ava silk blouse.  I'm wearing it today as a light summer jacket over a tank top, but if you dare, it would look amazing with a lacy neon bralette.

However, not very appropriate today for picking up Ayden at daycare!

DUO

I can't believe I almost forgot to share with all of you our first editorial for le Boudoir!!  The pictures were taken a while back by a friend photographer and the result captured the duo partnership.

We drove about an hour outside of the city and the air was crisp & chilly.  But it was all worth it!!!  Also thanks to our makeup artist and hair stylist, we got the disturbed boho chic look that we wanted.

I know, many of our friends said they can't see the clothes, but that's the whole point!  We just wanted to feature the chemistry of our partnership...the mood and the inspiration, not so much what we're wearing.

Now, for our next editorial for SKIIN, we won't shy away to showcase our clothes!

HOW TO BLOW YOUR TAX RETURN!

(Etro Oversized Geometric Necklace)

(Roberto Cavalli Crystal Wing Earrings)

(Emilio Pucci Orange Cuff)

(Dominic Jones Cadiz Ring)

(Pamela Love Pyramid Bracelet-Ring)

Tax season: two words I despise with a passion!  It's crunching time for most of us to gather all our tax slips to our accountant and pray that we won't be forking out a small fortune (and unfortunately for me, that will be my case!).

But for those of you who will be getting a return, here's a few inspiration for "How to blow your tax return".  And perhaps for myself, to lift my spirits, I might just get a little bling anyways.  Happy Tax Season!

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Pow! Pow! Man down

I got this new straw cowboy hat at H&M last week and I love it!  It was only about $15 and instantly gave me a cowgirl look...I almost feel like I need to chew on some hay or something.

Anyways, lots of prep work to do this week before next thursday which is the official opening of Le Boudoir Shanghai Studio and the launch of our line SKIIN!

Yeehaw!  They say: "Shoot them while your gun is still hot" and that exactly what we plan to do!

DENIM TREND - Floral

(Alexander Wang)

(Citizen of Humanity)

(Current Elliott)

(J Brand)

(Topshop)

I might be onboard with the coloured skinnies, but floral???  Ok, let's first start with my body type: pear shape, which means my problem area (like most women) is the butt/hips/thigh area!

Having that said, we all know that floral print, especially big floral on pastel shades, enlarges.  So, from a strictly stylist point-of-view, I really wouldn't recommend myself wearing floral skinnies to highlight my "problem area".  And to top it off, I'm not even a ver floral kind-of-gal!

I guess, just like last year's flatforms, I'll pass!

PROJECT ENVY - Gaia Repossi

Since the tender age of twenty, Gaia Repossi has been the artistic director of Repossi Joailliers.  The young designer has captured a younger market with exclusive collection by collaborating with some of fashion's best young talent, including Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra (two of my favourite designers at the moment!).

Yup, I'm jealous.  I'll admit it!  I wish I was the only grand-daughter of the founder of a haute joaillier house and had the opportunity to collaborate on projects with Mr Wang and Mr Altuzarra, both recent recipient of Best New Designer Award.

Why was my grand-father only a journalist in a communism country?!?  And she has to own the black & white Chanel Boy handbag that I've been lusting...life is so unfair!  Ok, I'll stop whining now...

MATERNITY CHIC - Isabella Oliver

A old friend of mine recently contacted me and was seeking for fashion advice on maternity wear.  The obviously question was: "When are you due?  Congrats!!!".

Looking back, I remember the fear of the unknown (my first pregnancy), the fear of getting fat and all those hormones was really scary.  And I really didn't want to spend money on new clothes that will only fit me for 6 months (since I planned to get back to shape asap).

Boy I was wrong!  I really shouldn't have cheap out on the only thing that would make me feel better at the time: shopping!  haha!

Here are some of my own tips on maternity shopping:

  1. Buy a few quality pieces - Basics in neutral colours and good quality will allow you to mix & match.  Look for fluid fabrics like heavy jersey that hugs your curves and make you feel sexy.
  2. Avoid buying too big - Forget about buying a pair of maternity jeans that are only good for the 3rd trimester.  You'll most likely only know your size as you grow.  And on top of it, I believe its important to wear pieces that fit every stage of pregnancy...I mean come on!  We're a new generation of moms not can be stylish and comfy.
  3. Pile them on - Don't shy away from accessories.  They're your best friends!!!  Add lots of costume jewelries, printed scarves and boho hats.  The best part: you'll still be wearing them long after you give birth!
My favourite maternity line is Isabella Oliver, a UK based brand that offer excellent quality and style.  If you're preggers, hurry!  They're having their 20% off on dresses to celebrate Mother's Day!  Sale ends sunday, May 13th.
