GIRL CRUSH - Madina Abaeva

Journalist, blogger and mom of two beautiful kids, Madina Abaeva has not only mastered runway looks to suit her petite frame (she's no more than 5'1" but looks a few inches taller thanks to great tailoring and proportions), she's also a true inspiration for all stylish moms!

I love how she doesn't take fashion too seriously and have fun experimenting different looks...too bad her blog, Desperate Fashionwives, is only in Russian, not a language I'm remotely familiar with...I guess I'll just keep admiring her pictures!

OBSESSION DU JOUR - Lomography

I love "LOMO" effect on pictures, especially for Instagram: it has intensity to pictures and makes them slightly vintage looking.

While online shopping on Urban Outfitters, I noticed that they have a full selection of cute cameras that does nothing to lomography (and other effects), all at under $100!  Aren't these the cutest Christmas gifts?!?  I would even consider wearing one as necklace!

MATERNITY TOP 10 - #1 The Shawl

At the top spot: The Shawl.  An oversized square cashmere shawl is my ultimate maternity piece!  But I also have a handful of high street brands that get equally worn as my prized one.  My only criteria beautiful palette and print.  With a maternity wardrobe that is mainly dark neutrals, this is where I can add a splash of colours and not be shy about it!

I love pretty yet practical lingerie...too much frills is only good for the angels at the Victoria Secrets show (or if you have the audience!).

So when I was looking for a nursing bra, I immediately turned to Elle Macpherson Intimates.  The super model sure knows a thing or two about what a stylish mom wants in a nursing bra.  I got the Midnight Breeze model featuring pretty lace trim on stretch cotton wireless bra which provide maximum comfort without compromising style.

Trust me, even if I still have a few nursing bras and tank tops from my first pregnancy, it always feels like to wear something new!

With the holiday season, it's the perfect time to indulge in opulent accessories.  I love the ultra-feminine house of Dolce & Gabbana's Baroque collection.  Every piece is closely detailed and embellished...and the dark magic of medieval Sicilian influence...I just can't get enough!!!

MAIN EVENT - Tina's Bday

 

Yesterday, we hosted our dear friend Tina's birthday at Le Boudoir!  To celebrate in style, we had a Vanity Express Bar set up with makeup artists and hair stylist to do a quick makeover/styling tips...and we all had so much fun!

Each girl was given 15 mins for makeup + another 15 mins for hair.  While waiting for their turn, we all mingled and had light lunch and drinks catered by my hubby's new bistro, Hungry Lung's Kitchen.

We were all so impressed with their new "refreshed" look that we decided a girl's night out was needed (why waste professional makeup/hair by sitting home and watch TV)!

SKI SEASON

Just the other, my friend got so excited that it's finally ski season, she decided to take out her whole Moncler ski outfit to try...unfortunately, the ski pants were a little snug...

I was just thinking in my head: "how fitted were those ski pants to begin with?"  Well, turns out they look rather from an editorial spread than from Sports Expert!  With that kind of outfit, I'd be excited about ski season too!

MATERNITY TOP 10 - #2 The Cardi Warp

At none other than #2: The Cardi-Wrap.  Yes, none other than my old trusted cardi-wrap!  It's size-free, cozy and so inviting...I've collected a few over the past years (red, stripped, black and indigo) and might consider adding a pattern one (aztec maybe?). 

Wear it as a cardigan, as a scarf, as a shawl, as a blanket, with a belt, backwards, front-tie, you name it!  For added luxury, I highly recommend a cashmere blend one!

One thing I really love about holiday shopping is all the beautiful gift set at the cosmetic counters!  Not only they are usually limited edition, they also tend to be better value than getting the items separately.

Being a big Nars fan, I think I just found their best set ever: Makeup Your Mind Express Your Cheeks, which includes full size bronzing powder in Laguna, blush duo in Orgasm/Angelka and multiple stick in Copacabana.  All three for $75 ($110 value) at Sephora!!!
