I was doing some cleaning today and look what I found: my long forgotten hat!  Nothing beats finding unexpected or forgotten things, it's almost like buying something new for FREE!!!

I must have bought this like 10 yrs ago at Ogilvy on sale and never wore it.  I love the large floppy rim, perfect for a neo bohemian look!  Well, off to have dinner with friends...Have a good weekend!

As we are officially Fall now, I'm really looking into a light neutral coloured chunky cropped sweater that can keep me warm while updating my wardrobe.  I don't mind if its in shades of oatmeal or heather grey or plain white, I just want a slightly boyish cut that can easily go with jeans to maxi skirts.

Hum...maybe I should look into the boy's section of Gap to see if they have something similar???  And of course at a fraction of the price!  It's a thought worth investigating...

SERIOUS CLOSET ENVY - Sylvia Mantella

Please stop rubbing your eyes as I did when I first saw these pictures...it's not a mirage nor is it the closet at Vogue US.  This, all of this, is the personal collection of shoes, handbags, gowns, coats and more shoes of Sylvia Mantella, Director of Branding at Mantella Corporation in Toronto.

Obviously, the word "minimalist" does not exist anywhere near her.  Everything is in excess, and I'm just plain envious!!!  I love the custom white presidential suite size walk-in closet.  I love the victorian decor.  I love the shoe portraits.  And mostly, I love all the shoes I can (or Sylvia can to be exact) wear!!!

ps.  Have you spotted the killer Kirkwood X Rodarte cage sandals that I've been wanting forever?!?

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Hard Match

I really wanted to wear denim-on-denim but it's not an easy task to pull off.  After trying to match a bottom to the same shade of blue as my denim shirt, I realize that none of my 30+ pairs of jeans/shorts/skirt is in the same family of blue...how discouraging!

Well, black always works in case of doubt.  And a black skirt it is!  Nothing spectacular but will do the job!

Doing the Undone

The undone braided hair is still going strong as seen at Proenza Schouler and Michael Kors Spring 2012.  I especially love the disheveled braids at Proenza with resembles an hybrid of braids and mohawk.  It has some rockstar feel element.  The Michael Kors version is more bohemian with the leather string braided through and centre parted hairline.


Getting the texture and height will surely require lots of teasing and spray...maybe even preferably a 2 day old hair.  I've personally tried the fishtail and regular side braids many times but they usually get a little too undone by the end of the day.  We have a dinner party tonight, maybe I can try doing the undone again?
